Initiation Wells by Limestone Ziggurat
Hurricane Helene has devastated Asheville, North Carolina. It is a mountain hippie city where I got married in 2004, where I saw Autechre play in 2015, where I considered spending my twilight years in the time before I decided to leave the Carolinas forever. Despite being in the mountains, the whole place is underwater.
"Initiation Wells" is a set of multiple takes (my first) exploring the Nonlinearcircuits Triple Sloths module, which outputs a set of three very slow modulation sources that are derived from Lorenz attractors, and here illustrates those movements through the three axes of Synthesis Technology's E352 Cloud Terrarium wavetable synthesizer. It has nothing at all to do with Asheville, or hurricanes, or human suffering - which is why I am using it to raise money for the rescue and restoration efforts underway in Asheville at this moment, doing my very best from hundreds of miles away in Ohio to help out this city that I love dearly as much as I can.
