Being in my early thirties now, I find myself struggling with certain expectations and norms that are often projected and imposed on people, and mostly women, of my age. The question of whether or not I want children. Should I be worried about getting older? How will I feel when I find my first grey hair? Society has brainwashed me into thinking this will be the beginning of my decline. I defy such a thought. “Grace Notes” feels like my love song to the privilege of ageing. We only have so much time on this earth. We only have one timeline. We do our best to be good, we make a little mark if we are lucky. And time waits for no one. So let’s not waste it.
