Our duo began when we decided to organise monthly improvised music sessions in Liège. Then with some concerts and playing together in various contexts: such as in a trio with Pierre Gerard; in a quartet for a ciné concert; and with many others during our organised sessions. In March this year, we decided to record our duet in the countryside, in Limerlé, Belgium.

Thomas Rochard is a French double bass player, now living in Belgium; he is active in improvised music, in the band 'Les filles du feu', in other genres, plus composing for theatre and cinema.

Frédéric Safin is a jack of all trades, as a musician, and as a person.
While sailing on his double bass through other music, he has been interested for some time in free improvisation, and began to play trumpet in 'Système Trappist'. With Thomas Rochard he co-created the 'Maatjes' collective in Liège, Belgium.
