Fiery Hot by BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL
BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL strip things back on Fiery Hot, a two-track EP that prioritises pressure, timing, and physicality over any kind of narrative excess. Both cuts are built with the DJ booth in mind — tracks that arrive fully formed, lock into a groove early, and hold a room without asking for attention.
“Goddexx” opens with a jackin’, body-led pulse that immediately pulls the room into focus. Crisp drums snap into place, an elastic bassline rolls underneath, and a vocal hook lodges itself deep in the mix. It nods to early-2000s house energy without slipping into pastiche, sharpened instead by a modern, pressure-heavy sensibility that works best when the floor is already warm.
On the flip, “Styra” leans darker and stranger. Skewed synth lines, driving percussion, and an unsettling vocal presence give the track a feeling of controlled instability, hovering between tension and release. It’s unruly without being chaotic, channeling late-night energy where things feel just slightly unhinged but fully intentional.
Released via their own HYBRID SPASM imprint, Fiery Hot captures BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL at a point of clarity. Playful without being loose, tough without posturing, and firmly rooted in the kind of techno that values feel over flash. These are tracks made for long blends, sweaty rooms, and DJs who trust their gut.
