Refuge by Hector Harley

Refuge, which features 8 new original compositions by Hector Harley, combines strong melodies with subtle harmonic shifts to create a rich musical landscape, allowing soloists ample room to express their musicality whilst staying true to the essence of each piece.

This album came at a point of much change in Hector's life, and was born out of the introspective nature of self reflection, expressed through composition and musical practice. Unlike Mansfield, which explored the musical possibilities of a chordless quartet (trombone, tenor, double bass and drums), Refuge features music specifically written for the harmonically rich landscape provided by the introduction of piano.
