Pieces by Cicada

Cicada is the first post-rock/neo-classical band in Taiwan, and opened for Icelandic contemporary musician Olafur Arnalds right after their debut. Under The Water" is like the poetic chirping of cicadas in the hot summer, bringing a little wind and the poetic melancholy of youth to appear so timeless. Their 2011 debut album "Pieces" established them as one of the classics of Taiwan's music scene, exploring the female mind and the process of discovery, like flowing water, the softest and strongest source of life on earth.

Over the past 10 years, Cicada has released several albums, moving from the inside to the outside, writing works that portray the relationship between the land and the people of Taiwan, with a deeper vision and a more mature expression. However, listening to "Pieces" again, I can see the fearlessness in the details of the music, the possibility of arranging each note, the strength of each passage, all trying to carve out my own image, just like the great writer's writing. The moment when I step out of "my room" is an eternal mark in my life.
