Fairytales by Gamardah Fungus
Ukrainian band Gamardah Fungus turned to portable tape decks, handmade instruments and trips to the forest to record Fairytales.
The duo, comprising sound designer Igor Yalivec and guitarist Sergiy Yagoda, call Dnipro home and often turn to nature, and traditional Ukrainian folkloric practices for inspiration.
This time around they added their own Russolo-inspired Intonarumori (a hand built noise instrument) into their forest-based improvisatory sessions to create an album of sparse and mysterious beauty.
Gamardah Fungus have toured widely in eastern Europe, and have previous releases on Flaming Pines and Paradigms Recordings among others.
