Sometimes, the oddest combination of disparate elements provides inspiration for music. The first motivation for this album was a compilation released on Projekt Records last fall celebrating the life & legacy of ARP founder Alan R. Pearlman. I thought it would be cool to try creating music only using ARP synth for sound sources.
I honestly don’t know where the second prompt came from. I have used John Butler’s musings on multiple tracks in the past. He is a retired farmer, who has become an unlikely YouTube star after his videos on meditation and spirituality became an internet sensation. Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is the name for a kind of sensation triggered by stimulating images and sounds. Quite accidentally, John’s voice has this effect on some folks which explains his popularity on YouTube.
Given that I use my music making to help provide calm and healing in my daily life, it seemed like a perfect combination. I hope these tracks help provide a space to help find peace in your life. I am releasing this album on my birthday. This is the first time I’ve done this, and it also seems appropriate since music making is such a gift to me. 😊
As always, thank you for listening and your support.
