Intoxication by Catherines Cathedral
“Intoxication” broke away from classic gothic rock with its very dynamic sound. Very aggressive rock (punk almost) hand in hand with piano and acoustic guitar ballads. Because of the sometimes massive use of keyboards there is also a New Age feel and the urge to make intelligent and thoughtful music, almost poetry is ever present.

Catherines Cathedral was formed by M. Valley, S. Morgana and D. Hansevi in 1992. They had classic goth attributes: hats, ponchos, drum machine, 12-string electrics, etc. The lyrics had elements of goth litterature and poetry inspired by Poe and Lovecraft. They sang about religious doubts and romanticized drugs. They were more goth than goth, but had a clear and simple sound .
