KALOR é o segundo álbum do produtor Wavezim, lançado pela label BICUDArec. Seguindo o caminho de composições quentes trilhado por seus 4 EPs anteriores, KALOR surge como resultado do mergulho de Wavezim na pista brasileira, em especial na noite de Fortaleza, habitat natural do produtor.

O álbum apresenta 9 faixas marcadas pela exploração percussiva de tradições afro-latinas energizadas pela dinâmica pulsante da música eletrônica: entre graves sintetizados e samples de vocal, Wavezim nos conduz a uma festa quente que combina dancehall, funk, techno, garage, afrohouse e outros ritmos.

A produção e gravação de KALOR é marcada pela vivência do artista. Seja como produtor musical, compondo no ambiente da sua casa tracks que figuram em DJ sets ao redor do mundo, seja como residente da festa BATEU pode comemorar, de Fortaleza, ou desbravando nos últimos anos as pistas de festivais brasileiros como Zepelim (CE), MADA (RN), No Ar Coquetel Molotov (PE) e Mamba Negra 11 Anos (SP). Wavezim fez da pista de dança sua maior escola, observando ao longo de sua carreira os timbres e ritmos que levam o público a soltar o corpo num transe de suor, sensualidade e decibéis.

Essa mesma sensibilidade rítmica é explorada em dois níveis: primeiramente, dentro das tracks, com uma dinâmica rica de beats e peças que se revezam para manter a diversidade das composições, mas também como uma narrativa mais longa que acompanha o álbum como um todo. Fica a cargo da primeira faixa do álbum, a Intro, rascunhar o cenário que inspirou o disco: a noite de Fortaleza, marcada pela combinação de estilos e cenas num mesmo caldeirão. Entre toques de percussão e tuins etéreos, somos apresentados a um baixo ácido e gravações da cidade que elevam a temperatura das ambiências.

A primeira metade do disco, contendo as faixas READY, RITMO e COMPROMISSO, é marcada por percussões sincopadas e samples de voz usados como matéria rítmica: duas técnicas que aproximam os mundos do funk brasileiro e do dancehall, aqui combinadas com o peso do techno e do house. O ritmo hipnotizante do disco chega em seu auge de energia na faixa título, KALOR, que é apresentada em duas versões: A primeira, com um feat. do produtor sul coreano DJ co.kr, é marcada pela repetição de tons agudos sustentados entre um grave envolvente e um beat enérgico. KALOR pt. II, em seguida, é o primeiro descanso do álbum: vamos do dancehall da faixa anterior pro bpm contagiante do garage, novamente com a presença de um baixo cremoso que sustenta a evolução da track. Wavezim mantém a pista em movimento ao jogar com um andamento que exala sensualidade e malícia, para quem dança sentindo o toque da pele.

Nas próximas tracks, Wavezim convida as artistas Clementaum e Mia Badgyal para participações em Tormenta e BLMM, respectivamente. Caracterizadas por um arranjo mais solar e divertido, sustentado pelo peso do bumbo 4x4, o ânimo íntima a uma fritação que passa por techno, electro e house. Os vocais de Badgyal encarnam a festa nos falantes ao repetir efusivamente o refrão, “Bitches love my makeup”. Em seguida, a última track, VAI DJ
(NÃO PARA) trás um encerramento coerente para o álbum, que mais parece um registro de uma noite quente de dança, do esquenta ao after, e a vontade de reescutá-lo desde o começo.

KALOR is the second album by producer Wavezim, released by the label BICUDArec. Following the path of heated compositions paved by his previous four EPs, KALOR emerges as the result of Wavezim’s deep dive into the Brazilian dancefloor, especially the nightlife of Fortaleza, his natural habitat.
The album features 9 tracks marked by the percussive exploration of Afro-Latin traditions, energized by the pulsating dynamics of electronic music: between synthesized basslines and vocal samples, Wavezim leads us into a hot party that blends dancehall, funk, techno, garage, afrohouse, and other rhythms.
The production and recording of KALOR are deeply rooted in the artist’s lived experience—whether as a music producer crafting tracks at home that make their way into DJ sets around the world, as a resident of the BATEU pode comemorar party in Fortaleza, or while exploring Brazilian festival stages like Zepelim (CE), MADA (RN), No Ar Coquetel Molotov (PE) and Mamba Negra 11 Anos (SP). The dancefloor has been Wavezim’s greatest teacher, allowing him to observe the tones and rhythms that lead crowds into a trance of sweat, sensuality, and decibels.
This same rhythmic sensitivity is explored on two levels: first, within the tracks themselves, through a rich dynamic of beats and rotating elements that maintain compositional diversity; and second, in the form of a longer narrative that flows through the album as a whole. The first track, Intro, sets the scene that inspired the record: the nightlife of Fortaleza, marked by a mix of styles and scenes stirred in the same pot. Through percussion strokes and ethereal twinkles, we’re introduced to an acid bassline and field recordings from the city that heat up the ambient textures.
The first half of the album, containing the tracks READY, RITMO, and COMPROMISSO, is defined by syncopated percussion and vocal samples used as rhythmic material, two techniques that bring Brazilian funk and dancehall together, here fused with the weight of techno and house. The album’s hypnotic rhythm reaches its energy peak on the title track, KALOR, which appears in two versions:
The first, featuring South Korean producer DJ co.kr, is driven by the repetition of high-pitched tones suspended between an immersive bass and an energetic beat. KALOR pt. II, which follows, offers the album’s first breather: shifting from the dancehall pulse of the previous track to the infectious BPM of garage, once again supported by a creamy bassline that carries the track’s evolution. Wavezim keeps the dancefloor moving by playing with a flow that oozes sensuality and mischief perfect for those who dance skin-to-skin.
In the following tracks, Wavezim invites artists Clementaum and Mia Badgyal to feature on Tormenta and BLMM, respectively. These songs are marked by a more sunny and playful arrangement, anchored by the punch of a 4x4 kick, igniting an intimate rave that weaves through techno, electro, and house. Badgyal’s vocals embody the party spirit through the catchy, repeated chorus: “Bitches love my makeup.”
The final track, VAI DJ (NÃO PARA), brings a fitting close to the album, which feels like a sonic record of a hot night of dancing from the warm-up to the afterparty and leaves listeners wanting to start it all over again.
The album will be available for download via BICUDArec and for streaming on all major platforms starting July 1st. The official release includes a listening party at Mamãe Bar in São Paulo, also on July 1st.
